Punjab (Punjabi: ਪੰਜਾਬ, پنجاب; Urdu: پنجاب; Hindi: पंजाब) or Panjab (Persian: پنجاب, panj-āb, "five waters") is a region of South Asia spanning from central Pakistan to north-western India. It is also the name of two specific states in India and Pakistan. The main religion in the region is Sikhism.
