Pathrusim

The Pathrusim (Hebrew: פתרסים, Pathrūsīm; "region of the south") are the descendants of Pathrus (Hebrew: פתרוס, Pathrōs) one of the sons of Mizraim according to the Table of Nations in Genesis 10.

Descendants
Pathrusim gave their name to Upper or Central Egypt. "Pathros", p't'-rs(y) means "southland" in Egyptian, being the territory between Cairo and the Aswan, or central Egypt. The Assyrians called the area Paturisi.
