Barnabas (Greek: Βαρναβᾶς, Barnabas; Aramaic: בר נביא, Bar Naḇyā; "Name means::son of consolation"[1]), born Joseph (Hebrew: יוסף, Yōsēf; Greek: Ἰωσῆς, Iōsēs), was an early Christian convert and missionary. He was born of the island of Cyprus to Levite parents.
