Casuarina is a genus of gymnosperms, which are largely found in tropical and subtropical areas. The tree has delicate, thin branches and leaves that are needle-leaf, and produce cones (coniferous).

- Casuarina equisetifolia L. is a tropical forest tree. Casuarina equisetifolia L is used for fencing. C. equisetifolia is extensive in the Hawaiian that is dry, salty, and in the mountains in high rainfall areas on volcanic soils.

Ecology
Casuarina equisetifolia and C. cunninghamiana are adapted to the southwestern and southeastern coastal areas. Equisetifolia specially prevalent on beaches. C. cunninghamiana is present throughout the same general area, often very dense stands the dise roads. And also Casuarina exist as planted trees as far north as Gainesville. In Hawaii, C. equisetifolia is located on sandy coasts and lowlands.
