Young earth creationist predictions

The following are Young Earth Creationist predictions based on Biblical models, some of which are observable, and some which have not yet been observably verified:

Observable

Rapid Microevolution Rates

Main:Creationism#Rates of Microevolution

According to Creationist models, a relatively low number of kinds were on the Ark that then rapidly microevolved after the Flood to become all the varieties seen today. This type of rapid microevolution is observable and has defied Evolutionist expectations that life takes thousands and millions of years to evolve in such major ways.

Rapid Human Population Growth

Main:Creationism#Human Population Growth

According to a Creationist model, humans have only been around a few thousand years, not hundreds of thousands or millions as in Evolutionist time scales. Creationist models therefore predict very rapid population growth consistent with a young Creation, which is exactly what is observed. Human population growth rate worldwide is 0.85%[1], whereas population growth at 0.45% roughly matches Biblical time scales for the Biblical age of the Earth, given 8 survivors of Noah's Ark growing to 8 billion population over approximately 4,600 years since the Flood.

Thicker Atmosphere in Earth's Past

Main:Canopy Theory

According to Creationist Canopy Theory, Earth's atmosphere was thicker in the past. This has been verified by:

  • Insect studies. The insect gigantism of the past has been replicated by increasing oxygen levels to match the levels of ancient Earth, when 50% higher oxygen levels than today's led to insects growing larger to avoid oxygen overdose.[2]
  • Fossilized raindrop impressions in ancient volcanic ash show that ancient Earth's atmosphere was thicker than today's.[3]

Early Bipedalism and Human Complexity

Main:Creationism#Early Bipedal Humans

If Young Earth Creationism is true then one would expect to see modern bipedal humans who walk upright, similar to modern man, at the very base of the human family tree, which is exactly what we find. Recent discoveries have shown that, contrary to prior claims, the earliest hominids walked upright and were similar to modern man, rather than apes. The four oldest hominids, Orrorin Tugenensis, Sahelanthropus Tchadensis, Ardipithecus Ramidus, and Australopithecus Africanus (a.k.a. 'Lucy') are all now acknowledged to be bipedal (upright-walking) with striking cases of complexity similar to modern man.

The Evolutionist 'March of Progress' dogma long taught to schoolchildren as fact showing a knuckle-walking ancestor similar to modern apes transforming to modern man was thoroughly debunked by fossil finds showing early man was utterly bipedal. Furthermore, Neanderthals actually had larger brain sizes than modern man[4], which flies in the face of the notion that mankind is progressing rather than regressing from GOD's original design.

Not Yet Observed

Rapid Continental Drift

According to Creationist models, Pangaea broke up during the Flood after which there was rapid continental drift immediately during/following the Flood.[5] This rapid continental drift has not yet been observed, should it be observed it will be another powerful evidence that Creationist models are correct, not Evolutionist models.
