Welcome to the CreationWiki!
We thank the Lord for your willingness to serve Him by participating in the development of this educational resource. The CreationWiki is a collaborative effort and your help is needed. Our hope is that by working together we can build an archive of knowledge that will spread the truth of His creation throughout the world.
Please note that only creationists are permitted to edit articles. New editors are encouraged to visit the community portal to find ways of getting involved. It is also important to familiarize yourself with policy, such as the requirements for uploading images. The CreationWiki has been equipped with numerous help files that are essential for people unfamiliar with editing using the Mediawiki software.
- Policy - We now ask that editors provide references to support all article content.
- Creating a new page - Simply enter a title for your new article and click "Create page".
- Editing Help - Authoring within the CreationWiki may require a little education.
- Formatting Help - Formatting pictures and creating tables will help make your pages professional.
Welcome from Tony
- Hey Luiz good to see you are active. Welcome to the community!--Tsommer (Tony) 16:53, 9 March 2012 (PST)
- Hey Luiz... Sure I would love to try and help you with your article... Just message me when you feel you are done and then I can try to tweak it for English mistakes.--Tsommer (Tony) 12:42, 13 March 2012 (PDT)
- I had to delete the Wikipedia copy/paste... Other than that the article was good.--Tsommer (Tony) 15:39, 14 March 2012 (PDT)
- Anytime sir... We encourage you to write in your own words on the CreationWiki. You are doing great work!--Tsommer (Tony) 18:29, 16 March 2012 (PDT)
Citations
So, if it is possible, I would ask you to insert this code in Common.css and see if it will appear like that: the raw URL is rendered at the end of the citation, but is hidden except when printed.
OK done. That seemed to work on your example. --Ashcraft - (talk) 05:15, 19 March 2012 (PDT)
NUMBEROFARTICLES variable
Even I create some articles, the number of articles still remain 5 (in the portuguese wiki). This is a bug or I am doing something wrong?
That is puzzling. I assume this is due to the minimum word-count that is used to distinguish actual articles from other sorts of files like redirects or stubs. Let me know if you find it to be otherwise - if the number doesn't rise with future new articles.

Hi, Luiz,
It's been awhile since i've used a wiki. (I hope this message gets through to you.)
Thanks for your help. I managed to format my Essay, but don't know how to delete the original page. Apparently, only administrators can delete pages. Are you an admin? If so, can you delete the original page?
Thanks, JeTSpice 10:41, 29 March 2012 (PDT)Jeff
Puzzling error
The following error is show after each edition I´ve made : Erro na base de dados Ocorreu um erro sintáctico na pesquisa à base de dados.
I've restored the table and saved a page to confirm the error message is gone and also that the page count updates. The site stats are as follows. Note that many of the pages that you created are administrative pages that are also not considered "content pages".
Páginas de conteúdo - 6
Páginas (Todas as páginas da wiki, incluindo páginas de discussão, redireccionamentos, etc.) - 95
The statistics page can be found here... http://creationwiki.org/pt/Especial:Estat%C3%ADsticas
--Ashcraft - (talk) 18:21, 4 April 2012 (PDT)
Ok, I´ve compared what happened (now appears 6 instead of 5. I changed the criacionismo page adding a wiki link) with this link: Article count
- Wiki-links are simply "internal links" to other articles on the site. The pt:criacionismo page already contained multiple wiki links - to Deus, cosmos, etc (plus the navbox links). Adding the one additional link to the page would have had no effect on its inclusion in the page count. The change to 6 was caused by the creation of the pt:Institute for Creation Research page.
- p.s. The pagecount can be removed from the main page if you'd prefer, and restored at a later time. --Ashcraft - (talk) 08:26, 5 April 2012 (PDT)
PT Translations
Would you translate the following - so I can correctly configure the registration form on the PT site.

about article
The article about Adauto_Lourenço that you wrote, seems just fine to me! Great work!--Tsommer (Tony) 10:56, 16 April 2012 (PDT)
Blessings
- It has been a huge pleasure to edit here. Other wikis are predominantly full of evolutionists and they ostensibly fight different points of view. It seems that the evolutionists are the new inquisition. They vote to delete pages of creationists (eg Adauto Lourenço page has been deleted three times), but they vote to keep pages of insignificant pornographic actors and actresses. So I decided to commit all my efforts here, because we share the same viewpoint, and it pleases God. I feel very welcome and I can only thank the opportunity. My problem is my English level, but many friends have helped me.
- Thank you very much!
You're welcome.
I came to CW in December of 2006. I came looking for a resource, and found myself helping build one.--TemlakosTalk 11:45, 17 April 2012 (PDT)
Doubt
I am building the template: Predefinição:Apagar. I don´t know if an user willing to propose one article for deletion should put the reasons in the CreationWiki in English or in the CriaçãoWiki in Portuguese. I await your guidance so I can finish this template.
I dont think requiring an English explanation for recommendations is necessary. I would allow them to do this in Portuguese.--Ashcraft - (talk) 20:05, 27 April 2012 (PDT)
Almeida Corrigida Fiel
I took in hand your English article above. I wasn't sure I took your meaning correctly, so please check it! I revised it not only for grammar and syntax (sentence structure) but also for idiom, which literally is our own way of saying a thing in English. (The native speakers of any language have "their own way" to express something. That is what idiom is; from the Greek idios, meanins "one's own.")--TemlakosTalk 06:55, 18 May 2012 (PDT)
Genetic drift
I'd like you to see the article genetic drift. I put a paragraph based on the model of the section of the article genetic drift of the Wikipedia, but the I changed the experience in number of colours. The image was also made by my employee and is very different from Wikipedia (both the marbles and the jars). I'd Like to heard your opinion. God bless you. Luiz Alexandre Silva 13:04, 25 May 2012 (PDT)
Awesome... BTW - havent forgotten about the portal graphic. There's a computer/software issue related to that, but I should be able to get to it soon. --Ashcraft - (talk) 19:11, 27 May 2012 (PDT)
Portal logo
After trying to create this logo with my new software I found that I had already created it some time back.
Unfortunately the updated software that I had used previously has changed some and I was unable to find an exact match for the layer styles I had used before.
I went ahead and uploaded this older version, but when you get ready for the subject-specific portal logos the style of your set will look a little different than the others.
I inserted this logo on the PT site already.

Lee Spetner
Dear Chris,in the article [[Lee Spetner[]] there is an error: Lee Spetner is not a Christian. He is a Jew. Luiz Alexandre Silva 09:24, 14 July 2012 (PDT)
Yes - you are correct. That error was previously noted, but the article written by a student who made some unfounded assumptions. Feel free to make the necessary corrections. --Ashcraft - (talk) 09:38, 14 July 2012 (PDT)
Edit summaries
When editing, it is courteous to leave an edit summary to inform others of what you did. When you only add a pt: link, the easiest thing to do is probably to copy it and paste that into the edit summary. Thanks. ~ Webster (talk) 00:07, 16 July 2012 (PDT)
Database repair
I ran the repair routine on all the databases. The English did have some serious problem, but the routine seems to have been able to correct it.

About new articles
Luiz, not a problem man. I am glad to review and correct grammar/etc within your articles. It will be my pleasure, thanks for asking! And also, you are doing GREAT WORK! keep it up.--Tsommer (Tony) 11:34, 30 September 2012 (PDT)
Applicant worldview
The following applicant has applied for an account on the Spanish site, but did not specify a worldview (Creation or evolution). Although a biography was included, I'm unable to translate it. Would you contact this user by email and ask him to identify his worldview. This is required before an account can be approved as it determines their editorial privileges. Unfortunately, the failure to make this choice on the form does not generate an error, which properly instructs the applicant to identify this requirement.

about changes
OK, I think the History article really needed an overhaul/re-organization, and I merged some content into its own article as well. Shouldn't be to many major changes to do. And about your article on the Civil War, for the most part it was really well written, just a few minor changes. --Tsommer (Tony) 11:20, 7 October 2012 (PDT)
French CreationWikii
Luiz: You've been such a hard-working administrator elsewhere, that it occurred to me that you might possibly have occasion to do a few "administrative" things on the French site. Even to subtly altering the Main Page (called the "Welcome Page" in French, or did you notice?).
The French site is my primary area of responsibility, and I felt I could use an active collaborator there.
Welcome aboard.--TemlakosTalk 05:52, 23 October 2012 (PDT)

spanish portals logo
I am working on the spanish portals and I will ask you the favor of creating a spanish portal icon (like the portuguese portal icon you created before) like this: If you can help the text is: CreaciónWiki Portales
- Sorry for the delay...

Maximiano´s promotion
I would like to ask you another favor. Use Maximiano It is a Pentecostal Christian creationist very committed to the creationist movement. He is involved in several other creationist websites and is a serious and dedicated person. I wish he was promoted to administrator if possible. I met him in a community on Orkut called "Creationism". He is very acquainted on this subject (Creationism). Luiz Alexandre Silva 03:51, 24 October 2012 (PDT)
- Done. You guys are doing some great work on Português site!

Atheism
It did not take me long to figure out that the user "GodAboveAll" was a faker.
Long ago I set a watch on the Atheism article. When I saw the changes, I knew something was wrong, so I rolled them back at once.
Then I took a look at his contributions. He hadn't made any, except those I just rolled back.
So I blocked him for good. For introducing content contrary to the Creationism POV.--TemlakosTalk 11:06, 30 December 2012 (PST)
Journal template
In the article Acts & facts I build a box suggesting a possible template for journals/magazines. Probably this is not the best and this box needs improvements. So I am asking if it is possible to you help me to improve the box. I would like also to know your opinion about the box.
Yes - looks like that will work just fine. Nice addition...

Alternative Splicing
I only changed a few words, definitely minor items. You are doing very well with your English. I only wish my Portuguese writing was that good.
This was a fascinating article. Keep up the good work.--John Baab 09:43, 25 February 2013 (PST)

Uploads to pool & pool categories
When uploading an image that is already on the English CW, the same filename must be used, or the image will no longer be visible on any page using the image when it is deleted from the English database. However, sometimes you might decide that a better filename should be used when uploading the new image (to one that is more descriptive - alphanumerics should never be used as filenames). If this is the case, then the articles using the image must be updated with the new filename after upload. You can find articles the image is used on by looking for the heading in the bottom of the page that says "File links".
Regarding the pool categories - here is a little help to understand this setup. The category structure on the Pool is (generally speaking) a duplicate of the categories on the English site. There are of course some exceptions to this, as there are some categories on the pool that are image-specific. The categorization will also diverge from what is found on the English CW once there are several images of a specific subject.
The red sea photo you just moved to the pool offers an example of the difference.
Note the categories on the following page. If there is but a single image of this topic, the categories for the image would be the same. http://creationwiki.org/Red_sea
However, if several images are uploaded - a new category should be created that is subject-specific. Note that I created a new "category:Red sea" on the pool. This category will then become a subcategory of those previously used by the image (or the article on the English creation wiki)
Note the categories on this page. They are a duplicate of the article. http://creationwiki.org/pool/Category:Red_sea
However, if you look at the categories of the individual images, you will see that one is also in the category "satellite image", and the other is in the category "map". These are some of the image-specific categories that are unique to the pool. http://creationwiki.org/pool/File:Red_sea_satellite.jpg http://creationwiki.org/pool/File:Red_Sea_map.jpg
p.s. I really like the idea of templates for the copyright status declarations. The upload form contains a field that says "Licensing" that I believe can be used for this purpose. ???

Your English is good. I broke your text into three paragraphs, changed a preposition ("of" to "by"), and took out one instance of the word "the." You can run a differential on your version against mine.--TemlakosTalk 13:05, 5 April 2013 (PDT)
Concerning Apsides
Luis:
The template Infobox Planet includes a call to the template named Apsides. Here is the relevant code:
<!----Periapsis ------------> {{#if:{}| <!--then:--> width=50% {{apsides|{generic}}}}}} Periapsis::{periapsis}{}| <!--else--> }} <!----Apoapsis ------------> {{#if:{}| <!--then:--> width=50% {{#switch: {{{apsis|{{apsides|{generic}}}}}} |helion |eridion |uranion |areion |hermion |astron = {{apsides|{generic}}}}}} |{{apsides|{generic}}}}}}}} Apoapsis::{apoapsis}{}| <!--else--> }}
I recently changed the code to work better with the proper elision of the letter "o" in the prefix "apo-" for an apapsis.
Briefly: when you specify a periapsis, Infobox Planet needs to label it. Now sure, it could simply use the generic "periapsis" for all primaries. But I like to follow the naming convention of choosing a name that says, "This is the body's closest approach to the primary named in the root."
Infobox Planet calls the "Apsides" template with the name of the primary. And whatever the name is, Apsides returns the Greek root.
Hence, when you are working with any planet, the primary is the Sun. So
Sun
returns
helion
as you would normally expect.
Similarly, if you are working with a moon of Jupiter, the template call will return:
zene
And it will return similar roots, named for ancient Greek names for the primaries. Hence:
gee
krone
uranion
poseidion
hadion
eridion
I have predetermined roots for the Sun, any planet, the Galaxy, any star other than the Sun (if we ever write an article about a named extrasolar planet), and even for a black hole. As long as you spell it properly and respect the case, Apsides will return the correct root. Otherwise it will reeturn "apsis," so it will not blow up.
In that way, our articles respect the naming conventions, but I don't have to rush around correcting errors when people mis-name the apsides. For reasons of linguistic history and consistency, for example, I have decided to refer to the apsides of Jupiter as "perizene" and "apozene" instead of the hybridized "perijove" and "apojove" I have occasionally seen in the astronomical literature. That's just one example.
Hope that helps.
The Arc Type
Luis:
The Inclination and Axial Tilt types depend on another, more basic type called Type:Arc
You need to create that on the Portuguese side, just as you created an equivalent for the Length type.
