Response Article
This article (Oil seepage would have drained offshore reservoirs in 20,000 years (Talk.Origins)) is a response to a rebuttal of a creationist claim published by Talk.Origins Archive under the title Index to Creationist Claims.

Claim CD232:

It is estimated that there are about 100 billion tons of offshore oil, and that about 5 million tons of oil seeps into the ocean each year. At this rate, it would take about 20,000 years to deplete that quantity. If oil is 50 million years old, a quantity 2500 times the present reservoirs would have been lost to seepage.

CreationWiki response: This claim is simply out of date. It is from a 20+ year old source, so it is no surprise that some of its material is out of date. In science it is normal for some concepts to be proven wrong while others get better supporting evidence and are enhanced.
