I like to study the Scriptures and the genealogy of Ham especially his son Mizraim. I am trying to figure out a possible Y-DNA connection.
Using the SNPs and STR Values of the Y-Chromosome I have discovered that STR Values mutate at a faster rate than what most genetic genealogists believe but it is still slow enough for us to use them to discover close relationships between males in the same Y-DNA family (haologroup)determined by common SNPs.
Y-DNA SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) are just like family branches. Here is an example.

All Jews are Israelites but not all Israelites are Jews. All Israelites are Hebrew but not all Hebrews are Israelites.
In this case IF during the conception of Jacob and Esau there was a Single Nucleotide Polymorphism in the Y-DNA of Jacob than all Israelites would carry THAT specific SNP and the descendants of Esau will not. This was just an example.
The Cohen family has done a lot of research on their genealogy and there Y-DNA it is believed among them that the true descendants of Kohath carry the SNP that defines the J1 Y-DNA family.
They do not suggest that the actuall SNP occured during the conception of Kohath, only that his driect male descendants DO carry the SNP suggesting that if the SNP occured Before Levi than ALL Israelites Should carry the M-267 SNP (J1)
If it is possible to determine a certain Haplogroup for the Cohen family and call it good than we should be able to at least do the same for some other groups.
Lets talk about Ham. We know he is the father of Mizraim, Cush, Canaan, etc.
Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Somalia these are the places that carry the Highest percentage of the SNP E-M35. there is a group of descendants from E-M35 that carry the SNP E-M78 this is associated with Mizraim or Egypt and is the Highest among North Africans and Egyptians.
Mizraim also had sons and his sons had to have carried the same SNP as he did. That would suggest that the Philistines would carry the E-M78 SNP.
The Samaritans of today live in Israel. Theres is much to talk about them. The king that captured the Israelites sent a priest back the priest of today has tested as he carries the SNP E-M78 while everyone else in his village carry the M267 J1 SNP along with the Cohens.
The bible tells us of a time when the smiths and craftsmen were takin with the israelites.
the only account i know of Smiths in Israel were the Philistines. Could this be the genealogy of the Samaritan High Priest? A Philistine? or even a Canaanite? The SNP E-M78 has a group of descendants that carry the SNP we call E-V13 this is not found in Africa but is at its highest percentage among Ethnic Albanians and the Pelloponesse Greeks. Could Crete really have been the home of Caphtorim as it is suggested by many?
Without a shadow of doubt we know that the V13 SNP is the son of M78 making them a group of people that came from the area the rest of the M78s came from. Egpyt
