I live in New Zealand and have been doing a study of the bible for about 20 years. I have been creating for myself a bible timeline over that time. I have used the model of Hebrew Chronology as presented by Mr Thiele.

In the last year ( 2010 ) I have been doing a review of his work, and I have found in reading the preface of his third edition of the Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings, I discovered that Mr Thiele originally had a chronological pattern which corresponded fully with the data of 1 & 2 Kings concerning the synchronisms and years of reign of the kings of Judah and Israel.

This original pattern was the result of 4 years hard work. However when he started to put fixed dates on his pattern, starting from Ahab and Jehu with Shalmanaser III, and working forward, found that when he got down to the period of the fall of Samaria, his pattern was not in agreement with the Assyrian records, being out by about 12 years.

Using the methodology of Mr Thiele, I believe I have been able to recreate his original chronological pattern prior to his later changes which resulted in his published version.
