I am a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church and I believe in the Bible as the Word of God and the authority of scripture guides my life. I have just been asked by my pastor, William Hertado, and our church board here on San Juan Island, Washington to direct the research to start a creation center on our island. We have a unique setting and desire to use it to bring others to Christ. Our population is very sensitive to the natural beauty in the islands. The tourist population that swells in the summer months is there because of the natural beauty and marine life found here. Unfortunately the Christians are a minority in these islands and the predominant beliefs are New Age, Eastern religions. I am an Registered nurse, we plan to have a medical ministry in conjunction with the creation center as well.
