Luther and Calvin

Why are Martin Luther and John Calvin not listed here? They clearly believed in a young Earth. --1990'sguy (talk) 21:47, 11 September 2016 (EDT)

  • Well, neither man developed a reputation for any scientific investigation. But would you say they deserve mention in this category for another reason?--TemlakosTalk 05:35, 12 September 2016 (EDT)
Well, they were obviously not scientists, but both of them did believe in a young Earth. I would say that they are very similar to James Ussher, who is listed on this category, in this regard. In fact, Luther even calculated the age of the Earth just as Ussher did (their calculations were only a few decades apart). While they may not have been important in the scientific realm, they were very important in the theological realm, which is just as, if not more, important. --1990'sguy (talk) 16:15, 12 September 2016 (EDT)
