Property:Apoapsis

From CreationWiki, the encyclopedia of creation science

Jump to: navigation, search

The apoapsis of any object in orbit is the length of the farthest separation of that object from its primary. The term apoapsis also includes all manner of specialized substitutions such as aphelion, apastron, apogee, apoares, apojove, or apo-whatever. Note that the substitution automatically corrects itself for the use of "helion" or "astron" as the suffix instead of "gee" or "jove" or other suffix. The usual object in view is a planet or a moon, and the primary is either the sun or whatever planet the moon is orbiting. The approved units for displaying planetary distances are km,AU,mi.
