The mean orbital radius of any object in orbit is the length of an average traverse between the center of the object and the center of its primary. The usual object in view is a planet or a moon, and the primary is either the sun or whatever planet the moon is orbiting. The approved units for displaying planetary distances are km,AU,mi.
