Summary

Solanum dulcamara, flowers and unripe fruit. The berries turn a shiny scarlet colour, very inviting but poisonous. Woody nightshade or Bittersweet is another member of the potato family and all parts are toxic. Toxic constituent:- glycoalkaloid, not destroyed drying or boiling. Grows up to 12 feet scrambling through hedgerows and scrub.
