Summary

This cute and active snail is often eaten as a delicacy, and the local name for it is Gong-gong. Members of the conch family don't creep slowly like other snails. They have a sharp pointed bit at the end of a muscular foot which they use to pole vault and thus lurch about on the sea bottom. The Gong-gong is listed among the threatened animals of Singapore.
