Summary

Indium is a rare metal with a low melting point. It is very soft and can be cut with a knife. Indium is much used in the industry. Indium tin oxide is transparent, but has a good electrical conductivity. Therefore it is used in nearly every modern display device, which made indium a scarce material, that is in danger of running out.
