Summary

You can see that on a conventional x-ray the denser tissue is, lighter in color and the less dense tissue is darker. You will notice that the bones are the lightest color and the air in the lungs is the darkest. If you look closely, you can see the faint outlines of the bronchi in the lungs. Also, if you look below the diaphragm it is nearly impossible to distinguish individual organs because the density of the soft tissue of all internal organs is virtually the same, but you can still make out the structure of the bones in that area.
