Identification Tips:
- Leaves: 4 to 8 inches long and wide; broadly ovate; 3 or 5 shallow, broad, short-pointed lobes
- Fruit: 1 inch in diameter; usually 1 brown ball hanging on long stalk; composed of narrow nutlets with hair tufts
- Bark: Smooth, whitish and brown
mottled; peeling off in large thin flakes
